What is Financial Freedom ?

The answer to this question although simple has been the cause of much confusion and miss-information.

Over the years I have read and heard many different and varied definitions that highlight the confusion around this subject.

Financial freedom isn’t the same as being rich. Although people often confuse the two, they are completely separate goals. One person could be completely financially free earning $15,000 per year. Another person could be trapped, even with a 20 million dollar portfolio.

And I have seen examples of both that are equally stunning.

What is the Need For Financial Freedom ?

To clearly illustrate this point, if I tell you that today will be the last day you are employed.  The company you are working with suddenly fell into bankruptcy and can no longer sustain its operation, what will you feel?  Or if you were fired because the company is cutting its cost, how will you act upon it?

If you felt scared and worried with the news because you don’t have enough savings to sustain your needs, or worse, you are filled with debts that you can’t be unemployed, then you are financially broke even how high your current salary is now, and even though you have owned many “assets” or properties.

The life savings of the average 50-year-old is $2300!

You can not last long on this sort of money. Worse still with almost 100% of disposable income now being taken by debt any hiccup in your employment, no matter how short has dire financial consequences.

Financial Freedom

I define Financial Freedom as the ability to acquire the lifestyle that you want on a sustainable basis.

Now as you have experience above work is not a sustainable means to fund a lifestyle. Our working lives are limited and our needs continue till our death.

When Americans reach age 65, after working hard for 40 or more years, only 1% will be wealthy.

Only 4% of retirees will have adequate investments or savings to actually retire at some level of comfort.

So true Financial Freedom exist only when your sustainable passive income exceeds the cost of your lifestyle.

What is Sustainable Passive Income ?

Financial Freedom can be exist both for the person that chooses the simple life, opts out (somewhat) grows their own vegetables, lives in modest priced accommodation and requires very little money to exist. Likewise Financial Freedom  also exits for those in the lap of luxury- mansions by the sea, exotic overseas holidays, luxury cars and boats and the finest of everything.

The universal factor that allows both of these extreme lifestyles to qualify as Financial Freedom is ‘Sustainable Passive Income”.

Primarily Passive income is anything that provides you money without the need for you to work for it. Examples may include, commercial or residential rents that you receive from properties that you own or control, dividends form shares that you have, profits from a business run under management that you own and so on.

Basically anything that makes you money without the need for you to do something.

Sustainable Financial Freedom

Now as with life absolutes rarely exist. So I use in my definition of Financial Freedom the term Sustainable.

Many people enjoy Financial Freedom through income that requires very little effort. In my example above where I mentioned a Business ran by managers, I would expect here that there would always be a requirement for the owner to pop in every few weeks or each month at least to check that everything is running smoothly. Further the owner may even have to review a series of Business Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) each week, perhaps form home again to make sure the business is profitable.

To my way of thinking if this business produced more money that the owner required to pay all their bills needed to live their chosen lifestyle, even if this meant that they had to apply a few hours a week to maintain the income, I would class this as Financial Freedom.

The key is sustainable passive income that exceeds all of the costs and expenses associated with your chosen lifestyle.

Through the ages great mystics have known that there is a mental switch that once triggered is the key to abundance and great wealth.

This question and the dynamic of wealth psychology is even further elevated when you consider that there have never in the history of the world been so much information available on how to become financial free.

So if we want wealth, and the information on how to achieve wealth is in huge supply…………Why aren’t you Wealthy?

Could the answer lay deep within our sub-conscious mind?

The drivers and real feelings around wealth lay within your sub-conscious.  Your values and associations with money and wealth are the key.

Not sure what your values and feelings are…..look at your results!

In his landmark work Psycho- Cybernetics, Maxwell Matlz stated that: it is impossible to long escape a reality that is not consistent with your self-image, or what you believe to be true about yourself.

So even though you want to be wealthy and there is so much information on “how to” become wealthy, your wealth psychology in inconsistent with that goal, even though you consciously desire wealth.

Why would this be, well that part could be as individual as you, however some key elements would include repetitious messages for an authority figure.

Perhaps as a very young child, your parents experienced a financial hurdle and may have uttered out of frustration, that ‘we will always be poor” or “we can never afford that”!

To a young child, these terms uttered with the high emotion created form the distress of financial burden can so the seeds of the very first values around money that will then look for any re-enforcement it can find.

Now fast forward 20, 30 or 40 years later and here you are trying so hard to create wealth when all the time your sub conscious mind is honoring that very first value you created around money and wealth.

Wealth psychology, whilst not the only aspect to wealth creation is an important foundation for any change you may choose to create in your life.

In my view the books I have read leave out a vitally important piece to the wealth jigsaw puzzle. If you are to succeed on your journey to wealth, it is imperative that you first understand how you have initially learned to surrender your potential to wealth. As you can clearly see they are now the richest and longest lasting organisations in the world. Their wealth surpasses anything else, much of it held in secret.

In India a few weeks ago, six cellars were discovered underneath the Kerala Temple, one of millions of temples throughout the country. The cellars were all filled to the brim with treasure. They estimate that there could be at least twenty billion dollars in gold and precious items sitting there. And that is just one temple!

Imagine what is held in the Vatican.

The roots of these religions stretch into every part of society and their links with royalty and the wealthiest corporations and individuals is well known.

In fact, as the evidence shows, it is these organisations that run civiisation. Their public face is that of charity and worship and they do great work in these fields.

But, for the few people at the core of these groups, the accumulation and mastery of money is the main aim, and they have discovered all its secrets.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that those who talk about God and Heaven and Miracles and Spiritual Power and Grace, also happen to be the richest organisations in the world?

They have learnt over centuries the way to use the highest intelligence of life to achieve their financial goals.

Do you think that is an accident, some sort of mistake that wealth pours into their coffers like the Niagara Falls for hundreds and thousands of years?

I can assure you it is a result of deliberate intention. They know how to do it. Money is Power. And if you want to keep the pack of humanity civilized, you need to hold as much power as you can.

They had to master money and learn the secrets of attraction and manifestation if they were to survive and have influence.

By using the accumulation of money in this way, they have understood the greatest secret of all, and now you will too. Even if you only understand a little bit of this mystery, it will be enough to totally transform your life into one of plenty and luxury.

Accumulating money is actually an amazing consciousness raising or even spiritual path you can follow. This is because it is involved in so many parts of each person’s life and their attitudes to money reveal their character more clearly than any therapy will ever do.

Money, in the mystery schools, is actually a representative of something else. This is the key difference and it is vital you really understand this point so you can transcend the mindset of the majority of the population.

Money is a neutral screen onto which you can project any meaning or power whatsoever.  It is nothing more than an agreement that has no intrinsic value in itself. Its value constantly varies with all the currency fluctuations.

Money has no consciousness or decision capability, even though some believe it has, when they say: ‘money please come to me’ or curse it for not coming, or similar remarks.

This attitude creates, in the minds of those who have it, an idea that money is like an independent entity, which is in some way superior to them and that is out of their control. In other words they are a victim to it.

It may seem to have a life of its own, but it obviously doesn’t.

What it is doing at any time is reflecting back to each individual a projection of their own mind. It is the clearest mirror you will ever find. When you learn how to look at it properly, you will realise that it is a representative of everything you cannot see about yourself.

This includes all the ideas you may have about yourself, your attitudes to every part of your life, how you feel about what life has to offer you personally, as well as all the unresolved material you have stored in your subconscious.

In other words, it reflects your identity or, if you prefer, the role you have accepted for yourself in this life.

Because money is such an integral part of everyone’s life, the role dictates the amount you let in. And in some strange way, money responds.

If you have a limited role that requires small amounts of money then that is what will happen to you. The opportunities will not come your way that can take you to wealth. You will always be in the wrong place at the wrong time to receive a surplus of money.

But how can this be? What intelligence is operating that can control your life, as well as the ebb and flow of how much money you can attract?

This is where you move into the metaphysical or spiritual laws of money, which so many of the richest self made people in the world write about and talk about.

This is also the core of the path mentioned earlier that allowed the religions and similar organisations to become so wealthy.

The basis of these metaphysical laws is that all things of a physical or material existence are a result of Mind.

Mind is the organising intelligence, or organising principle that underpins all of creation.

It is the same intelligence that you use to create all the events and circumstances of your life, including your money.

This intelligence is spread throughout the Universe. It is everywhere all of the time. It is in every fibre and cell of your being. It is conscious and knows what it is doing.

Imagine what you could do if you knew how to access this higher intelligence and cause it to draw whatever you want to you.

Fortunately, this intelligence is also a totally responsive medium. It doesn’t judge or demand or manipulate. It just responds to the desires and signals you send it.

You are always already manifesting events in your life already, using this intelligence, whether you are aware of it or not. You already know how to manifest.

It’s not that you are necessarily conscious of the signals you are sending it, because many of them are from your subconscious.

But you are influencing this intelligence constantly with your every thought, word and action. And it is responding. It always has and it always will.

You can see this quite easily in your life.  When you want something badly enough you go into high gear. Your desire builds intensity and emotion. And all the opportunities and coincidences start to pour in.

Even though you are unaware of the process, it continues on. When you apply yourself or commit yourself to something, life responds.

The more intense and stable the idea of your goal or desire, and the more concentrated you are on it, the more quickly it will come to you.

This is where the potency of your mind is far more effective than only taking actions. Time spent working with your mind brings far greater rewards more efficiently than struggling ‘out there’ trying to make it happen. Because your personal mind is totally connected to the higher mind.

This is why it is so important to ensure that you deliberately focus on attracting money and informing yourself of the ways to do it.

This was part of the teachings in the mystery schools and religions – how to intensify your mind. You can see the echoes of this in some of the ordinary paths of meditation.

Because the higher intelligence is constantly responding to and acting upon everything we send out, our first requirement for change is to become conscious of what it is that we are sending out.

If you can become conscious of the signals that you are sending into this life force, into this realm of intelligence, with regards to money (or anything else) then you will be able to eliminate sending out conflicting signals, or signals that bring you a result that you don’t really want.

Most of these signals are below the radar of your ordinary awareness. You need to develop the knack of recognizing them and feeling them, so you can develop control and make sure you are sending out life enhancing instructions.

If you change your signals you can change your world accordingly.  It is as simple as that.

The first step always is: Change your mind structures, and the world will respond.

Secondly, you need to fill your mind with the new and capable behaviours that can easily make you lots of money.

Money is something you are in relationship with. In fact it is a life-long relationship. As with relationships with other people, the more conscious you are of your behaviours the better that relationship will be.

This will include building into your being the abilities to perceive financial opportunities as well as attract them into your life.

Thirdly, you already literally have the whole power of the Universe waiting to respond to your command.  All you have to do is be given the right way to cause it to respond.

This is the path of using money for self-knowledge. This is really what the religions understood. Learn about the higher intelligence and then apply what you have learnt to improve your own life.

And use money as the medium to grow your consciousness.

The secrets of wealth have been sort throughout the ages.  Knowledge of these secrets alone, have allowed those few who stumble upon them to move from very little wealth to possessing massive fortune in an extremely rapid fashion.

By their very nature these secrets have been the foundation to empires and private fortunes alike.

Surprisingly though the location of these secrets lie not where you would expect to find them. It has been said that the best place to hide, and therefore find anything is right in front of those searching.

Napoleon Hill with his landmark book ‘Think and Grow Rich’ hint to the location of this secret as have many authors and presenters.

The secrets of wealth come in a few paths. The most widely known is through the application of a wealth creation strategy.

There are literally thousands of presenters authors and alike all with a ‘how to’ method of achieving wealth. Even if their methods are sound, the local and larger economies are conducive, you have the right skill sets and a whole world of other factors line up, the chances of you creating sustainable wealth for any length of time from these methods is around 3%.

That’s right, on average only 3 people out of every 100 who attend, sign up, pay good money and invest hours- days- weeks- months even years of effort will actually make any money.

So I think that you will agree ‘the secret of wealth’ is not found in the ‘how to’ courses and methods.

In a similar fashion the ‘follow me’ method also produces very poor results on the whole.

Even though it all sounds very logical and common sense, to follow the path of someone who is already wealthy the results again speck volume against this very popular method.

Perhaps best suited as motivation, reading the story of Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Warren Buffet will un-likely produce the next billionaire.

Now at this stage it would easy to become disheartened, even a bit angry or frustrated. You see we are identifying factors that are generally widely accepted as fundaments to wealth creation.

And yes these factors either in part of as a whole will appear in the environment of all of those who have achieved great wealth and by virtue of that be expected to have discovered the secret of wealth.

However these factors are not the secrets to wealth as many people possess all of these factors, work have, are motivated and are still no closer to wealth than the average man.

So what is the factor that separates those who archive great wealth from the millions who simply try?

What are the secrets to wealth?

How can some people seem to without effort or struggle achieve great wealth despite education, financial circumstances or any of the other factors that we so commonly attribute to wealth creation.

Could it be something as simple as common sense so universally accepted as mind set?

Remember how in the beginning of this piece I mentioned that most if not all of the great secrets are found right in-front of your eyes!

Mind set is the one factor that if not in place at the very start of your wealth creation journey will work against you, sabotaging your every effort.

Yes mind set the focus of the mind, opening to wealth conciseness.

As simple, un-sexy and free as any secret could ever be.

Right in front of you, in your language, your thoughts, your behaviors and actions. Most importantly right in-front of you through your results.

Wealth Consciousness

The single ability that gives you great wealth

Wealth Consciousness can do that for you. There is nothing else quite like it. And best of all, it is entirely up to you how much you can bring into your life, once you become familiar with its ways.

Never forget this: It’s all to do with you. Nobody else. The power is in your hands. You can do it, you really can. The rich are no different from anyone else. They are just people who want to be well off and have a wealth consciousness.

Now is your chance to be the same. It just requires the decision to become financially free, and a few new and easily learnt abilities. We will look at the most important one of these in this article. But first think about this:

Would an extra $2000 a week coming in, year in year out, for the rest of your life, be useful for you? What about five or ten thousand? People are doing it every day of the week, using this ability.

Imagine being able to spontaneously come up with a brilliant idea that can make you a fortune. Just like that. It springs into your mind effortlessly. Again, a few people have always been able to do that. Now you can be one of them, by learning to do it consciously.

Let’s see what it is. First, we’ll sum up what we’ve understood so far, as we need to build on it:

We have seen in the previous articles that it is absolutely essential you realise your mind is basically a collection of different structures or programs (like a computer). Each part of your life is controlled and directed by a particular program and you have to use the right program for each job.

Just as there is no use using a screwdriver to try to cut a log of wood, (because it’s the wrong tool. You obviously need a saw or an axe), there is no use continuing to use the mind program that has not worked for you in the past, to try to create wealth.

It is utterly and completely useless to try to make more money by slaving or experimenting in the world, if the inner commands for lack still in place.

And, if you don’t have the right tool in the box, in other words the right program in your mind, you must get one, which is where retraining or reskilling yourself is completely unavoidable.

Don’t become one of the people who wakes up one morning to find that they have little or no money and no idea how to make it. As Warren Buffett, for many years the world’s richest man, said: ‘Making money is like sex. It’s not something to leave till your old age!’

Start immediately, as making money is also one of the simplest things in the world to do, as well as being very enjoyable.

So, there is one ability that the most successful people in the world have. It is also an ability used by those who take themselves from no money to a huge fortune.

It is often said that we only use a small fraction of our minds, anywhere from 1% to 10%. Nobody really knows, but certainly everyone agrees that there is a tremendous amount of unused mind power in us all.

Your mind is an unimaginably vast resource that can be applied to anything in your life, including making money. It not only contains your conditioning, which is only a tiny part of it, but it also has a whole range of abilities you never use.

Let’s look at some well-known people, who have accessed this ability, to reveal what it is.

Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple has this almost genius skill of using much more of his mind. He used to give his board meetings sitting in the full lotus posture (the tight crossed legged posture you see used on statues of meditation masters). He is an experienced meditator, an explorer of the inner Universe, and traveled in India as a young man to study the higher things of life.

He now has easy access to his own higher intelligence or superconscious. It is from here that he receives his amazing ideas, as well as the piercing insights about marketing and business success, that has taken Apple Computers, in a couple of decades, from a basket case to the multi-billion dollar giant it is today.

It is now the largest technology company in the world, outstripping Microsoft, and could very soon become the largest company in the world.

This is entirely due to Steve Jobs’ vision and insights. He has these because meditation gives you access to the higher part of the mind. He is able to constantly receive the brilliant perceptions and ideas that have allowed such unprecedented success.

Warren Buffett has access to the same higher intelligence. He values what he calls his ‘thinking time’ above everything else, where he can sit back and allow his higher intelligence to guide him. He insists that this is where his fortune is really made.

Napoleon Hill, the author of ‘Think and Grow Rich’, the most popular and longest lasting book on money ever written, also emphasized the need to access this higher intelligence if you want to change your life into one of wealth.

Albert Einstein called this process of receiving ideas and insights from his higher intelligence, his ‘reverie’.

You can research the greatest minds in history and see that they all say the same thing: There is an infinite and awesome intelligence within you, that responds to your call and will fill you with brilliant intuitive knowledge, inspiration and solutions, once you know how to access it and open yourself to it.

You must have access to it if you are to lift yourself from the patterns of the past to the success of your future. It makes the making of money far easier.

You glimpse it occasionally with intuitive flashes and coincidences. It’s always there but in the average person it is unused and untouched and completely unknown.

People sometimes try to come up with new insights, to help them make more money. They rack their brains trying to find the million dollar idea. But they just can’t do it. This is because they are using the ordinary, surface mind. The ordinary mind can only do what it has done so far. Nothing more.

The difference between most people and those who start from nothing, then become enormously rich, is that they are able to access the part of their mind that knows how to make money. This part of the mind already has the understanding in place and the higher intelligence to give you the perfect solution.

It is called their wealth consciousness. It is where all the higher parts of your nature, such as intuition, inspiration, genius, higher powers of the mind, extra sensory perceptions and so on, are stored.

Strangely enough, the wealth consciousness is a faculty that is completely responsive. It will give you what you want. You only have to ask and it will deliver. In fact it will never stop delivering for your entire life. That is its function, just like the hearts function is to beat.

There is nothing more interesting or amazing as the wealth consciousness. When you awaken to it consciously, it is as if an invisible genius has come to help you. You are given what you need to fulfill your desires and your intelligence grows to a new level.

But, it can only respond to what you ask of it. So, if your mind is filled with negativity or ignorance about money, then that is what will be delivered to you. The wealth consciousness doesn’t care. It makes no judgments. It just responds. Does the heart care about the quality of your blood? No, it just pumps.

Life is a consciousness game. The more conscious you become, the more successful you will be.

So, keeping all that in mind, would it be wise for you to awaken the sleeping giant of your own wealth consciousness and use it to give you the ideas and ways to create the money you would like? It is actually essential to use it instead of just relying on the surface mind, which, after all, can only do what it has always done.

You can awaken it at any time. It is very straightforward, because what you will be doing is moving your attention to a part of yourself that is entirely natural.

Wealth consciousness already exists within you and has always responded to your every desire, whether they have been conscious or subconscious, positive or negative, life affirming or life denying.

Your wealth consciousness, just like the rest of your mind, must be trained, so you can use it to receive what you want. Otherwise it will just continue to act on whatever your conditioning happens to be. It has to respond to something, and therefore you need to make sure that what it responds to is life enhancing, as well instructing it to create streams of income.

Now is the time to train yourself to use it for changing your life into one of plenty, comfort, security and permanent wealth. Why wait any longer?

Learn to look within, and open yourself to your most brilliant gift. You will be very pleased you did, as the money ideas and knowledge start to effortlessly flow.

Becoming wealthy is the direct result of one specific action ‘controlling assets’.

Their traditionally are seven classic assets groups;

• Land
• Real Estate
• Shares
• Precious Metals
• Collectables
• Gems
• Business

Each of these major categories will branch in to many varieties within that section.

The fundamental issue with almost all of these classic asset groups is that they all require

1. Access to finance,

2. Skill,

3. Favorable market conditions, and

4. Time.

This combination can lead to a high level of risk particularly if any one or more of the four elements is absent or lacking.

Becoming wealthy therefore followed a formula which held fast particularly well during the past decade or more of prosperous world economic conditions. However with the GFC, European Debt Crisis and more recently the world on the brink of US Debt default the previous formulas and blueprints no longer hold true, or at least are far more volatile and risk oriented.

Two new mediums of wealth creation have emerged in recent years to be not only potentially the quickest blueprint to becoming wealthy they also offer in many cases the lowest risk.

As the world changes dramatically the demand for information has created a new age in the world economy. Similar to the agricultural age and other commodities, the manufacturing age and other products, the information age is the leading edge in the creation of the world’s new multi-millionaires.

Combined with the already maturing world of the internet and the access and communication available these two new mediums are the gold rush of the millennium.

Becoming wealth has never been so available to everyone. Start up or entry costs are incredibly low and in some cases negligible. Proven methods and blueprints are freely available and easily accessed. Demand and markets are as close to a certainty as could any Income model hope for or expect to exist. Time required to see results can be so quick they become folklore.

Creating wealth is more important now, than perhaps at any other time. The world’s economy is going through so many changes and, from one day to the next, a whole country can go from rich to poor, let alone individuals. Natural disasters and economic crises are now par for the course.

Anything can happen and, as you can see around the world, it already has.

The employment market is also changing radically. Many jobs are being exported overseas, as the third world countries develop their own middle classes. People now have to become multi-skilled very quickly or face fewer opportunities.

The New Gold Rush has begun!

This roller coaster ride will continue, yet, for those who are prepared, it offers the greatest opportunities that ever existed in human society for creating wealth and financial security.

For you personally, unless you are already financially independent, it is vital that you pay full attention to creating a secure independent income. It needs to be as passive (meaning minimal management) as possible, so that regardless of what happens in your life, you will always be taken care of.

Today, this can all be done very easily, once you know how, and, most importantly, once you have cleared any sabotage patterns you may have in your subconscious about creating wealth.

Making money is not a complicated thing. It is in fact very simple. It is just a matter of learning a few simple principles and applying them. As we will see in a moment, there is something else that blocks you.

The only security against any challenges is to develop the skills to be able to create streams of money whenever you need them. It is also sensible to set these up immediately because you never know what can happen.

With the Global Financial Crisis still very fresh in our minds and as we approach the eve of the US Debt Crisis and the European Sovereign Debt concerns, nearly all men and women around the western world know how vulnerable we all are to the effects of events around the world.

Prior to the GFC, for a couple of decades, people easily made money hand over fist. Shops were full, the stock market and property boomed, businesses made huge profits and China opened up. It seemed the good times were here forever.

In this time whether through property, business, web based marketing, share trading or any of the traditional asset fields many people thought that their financial futures were secure.

Now the fundamentals are still the same, essentially nearly all wealth creation will be achieved through controlling an asset and either receiving continuing returns or the singular return through the sale at a higher price.

Information

In a constantly changing and dynamic world to be open to new information is essential in creating wealth.

Although the fundamental of wealth creation remain the same, new opportunities will appear and dissolve much quicker. To be on the forefront of new methods, techniques and opportunities is essential.

Anyone who wants to make increased income must understand the web. Less than one per cent of its potential has been revealed, and it is working its way into every aspect of life. It is literally like the first few months of the Gold Rush, which is still running over a hundred years later.

The web is where anyone can become a millionaire in a year or two, as long as you have the right mindset in place. The wealthiest new people in the world have become rich by understanding the opportunities of the web.

Application

This perhaps the most misinterpreted element in creating wealth.

For many the focus is all on mindset and strategy, with little or application.

You will never become wealthy if you do not apply the information you absorb. You must risk the change of not achieving your intended results or you will guarantee never achieving them.

Perhaps my personal definition of “knowledge” illustrates this point well, “Knowledge is information applied”! Information will never create wealth, knowledge will.

More millionaires have been created in times of uncertainty than in periods of boom. See the current times as your opportunity.

This is probably one of the most common questions asked, the problem is it is generally the type of question that is asked by someone who is somewhat on the fence about How to Become Wealthy.

If this upsets you somewhat, cool down because you are now in a space that offers some real potential to Become Wealthy.

What do I have to do to become wealthy? What actions or causes with allow me to become wealthy? These are perhaps more powerful questions if you really what to achieve financial freedom and create real wealth.

You see wealth is the result you wish to achieve; unfortunately we are more aligned to focus on results rather than causes. Where in-fact if we were to focus instead on the causes of wealth we would naturally become wealthy as a result.

So the first step to become wealthy is focus on the causes of wealth and not the result.

This now leads back to an earlier question, what are the causes of wealth?

One of the primary factors that all wealth people have in common is that they own assets.

Here we must be careful because the term ‘assets’ can have mixed meanings for many people. For most people the term asset means their home, cars, furniture, and other physical items. When I refer to assets I mean anything that put money in your pocket.

However from this definition the average family home is not classed as a liability. The financial demands of mortgage repayments, insurances, utilities, maintenance and so on create such a financial depend on your income that at the end of each year the cost of owning that family home is astounding.

Assets that produce income might include an investment property that is rented out and is therefore cash positive. A website, a managed business, precious metals, blue chip stocks or again anything that creates income.

As a top level business coach for many years one of the most accurate sayings I know is ‘that cash is king’. This is also so true if you wish to become wealthy.

So the second step to become wealthy is own assets.

If you look at the results of the average person in most western countries, defiantly the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand, you will see that statistically by far the majority of the population never achieves any real level of wealth.

In fact on average only 3% make this level. Surprisingly that average American spends 118% of their life time income (for Australia it is 115%). Yes most people spend more than they actually earn.

To see these facts clearly it starts to become obvious that if you follow the herd you will end up like everyone else- sick, broke, lonely and unhappy.

To become wealthy you have to start going against the herd. When the property boom is in top gear and everyone is buying property- start selling at the top of the market. The same when shares start to explode again look to cash up. Likewise when the market is bottoming look to buy good stocks.

So look at the bigger picture and be aware that we are conditioned to give our money away. Whether that’s through reading more or looking to align yourself with people who are on the same journey as yourself.

There is no one secret to wealth but rater the achievement to wealth creation lies in the combination of Strategy, Mindset, Application and Support.

My own journey, even though I already knew much of what was required to create wealth, only took off once I met my mentor. Here the keys of Strategy, Mindset and Application were leveraged by a proven blueprint and the support of someone who personally knew the journey intimately.

Mindset

There has been so much hype focused around Mindset, Law of Attraction and Manifestation etc that I feel much of the real aspect to Mindset has been lost amid sales focused marketing and people capitalizing on the fears and misunderstandings of most people.

Recent breakthroughs in Neruo- science along with discoveries covering the psychology of the sub-conscious mind now allow a dramatically improved understanding of the power and importance of Mindset in any human endeavor.

Ironically these breakthroughs in understand have draw parallels to works published in the late 1950’s by two pioneers of this science along with some specific ancient understanding now only being seen through the developments of Quantum science.

From this perspective alone the “Secret to Wealth” may not be a secret any long but rather a blueprint to follow step by step, no more complex or mystical than following a recipe for baking a cake.

Evidence of the success of the importance to mindset in the secret to wealth creation can be traced through such classics as ‘Think and Grow Rich’, As a Man Thinketh, The Science of Getting Rich and so on.

Strategy

Strategy is one aspect of the Secret to Wealth that most people think they have addresses when in-fact a closer look will reveal the opposite.

For many people embarking on the road to financial freedom the journey is provided a seemingly massive head start again through those on sales based marketing (basically people mainly with good intention but only wanting your money) primarily through seminars showing how through one very narrow and particular strategy they have “the” blueprint to wealth.

Without doubt many of these self proclaimed experts have achieved some level of success, usually after years in their niche (that you never hear about) resulting in a period of great reward in usually a short period of time, the 10 year overnight success.

The folly in this very popular so called strategy is that;

1. You approach this new venture with the exact same mindset that has created limited results in the past. Remember you must create change from the foundations up!
2. Strategy implies a chosen option in response to current market conditions, a choice that offer the greatest change of success or plays you’re your strengths. These seminars act only on niches regardless of your personal conditions or the market conditions. A common call is that the wonder strategy will work for everyone in all conditions….when you really think about it… does that really seem plausible?

The reality is that the world, nations and regions follow the effects of varying market or economic conditions similar to the cycle of the seasons. To act without respect of this cycle is as fool hardy as to approach a winter’s day as though it were summer.

The secret to wealth is realizing that you can prosper in any market condition only if you have and select the appropriate strategy that best suits the effects of your local, national and world economic conditions.

Application

The third element to the secret of wealth is application. Simply thinking about being rich or just having the best Mindset alone will achieve zero unless you apply what you think and believe.

Remember “Knowledge ids the application of Information”, you don’t know unless you try.

In all goal setting, momentum of some kind is crucial both for feedback and course correction. Without application, without movement or momentum of some kind you only have a theory of wealth creation.

There are many quotes and sayings that centre around the theme that the greatest achievement or success lies in direct proportion to the risk or vulnerability you were prepared to be open to.

Application is you risking that you may be wrong.

Support

Support is the real fast track to success.

On your journey to discover the secret of wealth, the support of someone how has travel the road already is invaluable.

In so many examples perspective can so dramatically alter the meaning we draw from the information that we receive that options seemly impossible before now become reality. With this ‘Support’ is inter-linked with the feedback from application and the strategy we choose.

Again in my own case the support and perspective provided through my mentor provided both great personal challenges and un-calculable value.

The irony to accepting and allowing the fact that there is no single secret to wealth but rather that wealth creation and financial freedom result more from the combination of key factors which include the combination of Strategy, Mindset, Application and Support.

Unfortunately we are so bias to prefer that there exists some mystical and as yet undiscovered Secret to Wealth that we are some vulnerable to the snake oil charmers and marketers of the current times that we spent billions of dollars every year on get rich schemes and wealth creation method that yield, on the whole, incredibly poor results for the majority how join.

The truth is that the secret of wealth require little more that a good plan which is acted upon and adhered to with ideally the support of a coach or mentor who has realized what you are seeking.

Not to sexy, but very dependable.
